Communication using Adobe Flash
Flash is an excellent way to present audio and video material on the Web.
A multimedia Flash presentation is both browser and operating system independent.
Viewing a Flash presentation does require that the user has the Adobe Flash Player plug-in installed on their system.
However, according to many estimates, at least 98 percent of users are using the Adobe Flash plug-in.
Flash is used to present video materials on websites such as YouTube and audio on many music and podcasting websites.

An animated Flash banner, when used judiciously, can be an eye catching addition to your website.
However, as with any spice if not applied tastefully, a banner animation can overwhelm a web page and drive the user away.
This banner animation was created at SummerSound using ActionScript and the Adobe Flash CS3 development studio.

Audio Communication
This is a custom MP3 audio player created by
David Summer here at SummerSound.
The technologies used here are ActionScript and Adobe Flash CS3.
The MP3 player is written to be simple, small and very easy to use.

Notice the large Play button on the left hand side of the MP3 player.
The only other control is volume, allowing users to easily adjust the volume of the audio.
Many users don’t have quick, easy access to their computer’s volume control.
Also notice the logo in the right hand part of the player.
For this demonstration an Apple logo is used.
However, this can be easily replaced by your company logo.
In this way the MP3 audio files presented on your website can be played using a device that is branded with your company name and logo.
Video Communication and eLearning
Short, concentrated video tutorials are an excellent way to present important information about your product.
People will remember an audio/video presentation that is well planned and executed, much more readily than trying to get the same information by wading through pages of written documentation.
This tutorial was prepared by David Summer for Glass House Technologies as part of a series of eLearning video tutorials.
These learning tools enabled the integration of Clearspace enterprise collaboration software into the client’s office environment.
With an extensive background in education as well as technology, David Summer is exceptionally well qualified to design and produce your company’s eLearning materials.
Podcasting
As part of your website, you not only need to create meaningful product information, but you also need to present this information in a clear, creative and compelling manner.
Newsletters are a tried and true business communication device. At SummerSound, we have also set up newsletter RSS feeds and websites. However, podcasting takes business communication to another level.
Podcasting provides a personal and direct communications medium.
In addition, by subscribing to your podcast, clients and potential clients are actively saying they want to hear more of what you have to say.
At SummerSound, we offer a
complete podcast setup package. We will create a podcast section for your website that includes a description of your podcast as well as information about each of your podcast episodes. This podcast area will automatically update as you add episodes to your podcast. We also offer podcast production services.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Just as your site design is important to your business, so is your search engine site placement. Your website is of no use to you, if potential clients are unable to find it in the Internet sea of information. At SummerSound, we understand what it takes to achieve and maintain your site’s search engine rating.
This process does not begin and end with the inclusion of a few keywords, as some would have you think.
Rather, it is a function of your overall website design, site implementation and content.
We can design a site and help you build the content that you need to draw quality visitors to your website;
visitors who are already interested in your product or service.
Section 508 Accessibility Compliance
At SummerSound, we are thoroughly familiar with all aspects of developing websites to meet the US Government's Section 508 guidelines.
All Federal agencies are required to comply with Section 508 guidelines.
They are also required to purchase accessible technology, so contractors, vendors and anyone receiving federal money need to provide products and services online in an accessible format.
